We are a small group based in the town of Rugby, Warwickshire.
Our aim is to encourage and aid the study of Family History which extends to conducting research relating to Rugby & surrounding areas for Members resident outside the district.
A comprehensive programme is arranged each year which includes a varied range of talks held monthly, with a group visit to The National Archive, ‘brickwall’ help sessions, summer evening visit and wintertime social.
We originated from a family history class run in an Independent Adult Education Centre called The Percival Guildhouse, located adjacent to the Rugby Library.
We also run a helpdesk at Rugby Library on the third Thursday of every month, using the extensive online facilities for reference and research.
In summary, the Rugby Family History Group is a friendly mixture of beginners and experienced family historians. It offers support, a regular magazine and a varied programme of activities, providing interest for all our members. If you live in Rugby but have family history interests elsewhere, like a lot of our members, you will be made welcome.
